Is Dance Considered Exercise?

When you think of exercise, what do you see in your head? Running on a treadmill? Cardio at a gym? Or something bigger, like constant training for hours on end to perfect strength in every muscle in your body? Something that needs stamina and hard work? Because that is dance. Dance is hard work and dedication from growing stronger mentally and physically to be the best you can be. Is that considered exercise to you? I think it is!

When someone is exercising, they are doing so to get stronger, faster, and even better when it comes to physical activity. You can work out your core, abs, arms, legs, and much more. In dance, we do that too. We work out every muscle in our neck, back, arm, leg, and core after stretching as part of our warm-up.

When a dancer is performing, they still have to use all their muscles in their body to keep a good posture on stage and simply do the moves correctly. In my opinion, these reasons and more come to the conclusion that dance can be used to exercise, and may even be a sport. (:
