Dance in Running?

As some of you might already know, aside from dance, I do cross-country. Running and dancing are very similar in many ways. Today, I will touch upon that.

There are different classifications of exercises, one of them being cardio. You guessed it-- running and dance are cardio. Cardio requires a lot of concentration to work hard. Whether you are sprinting or turning, cardio is needed to use your strength.

Speaking of strength, using your muscle is extremely important when running and dancing. You need strength to run fast or to balance en pointe. Strength can be used in all different parts of your body depending on what it is you're doing. From jogging to grand jetes, strength is key.

Next up is endurance. Endurance is when you can work out and use your strength for long periods. Also known as stamina, endurance is needed for all sports, especially running. You need it to run long distances, like in marathons. In dance, dancers need endurance for long, hard rehearsals.

As you can see, dancers and runners are alike in many ways. Also, don't forget to subscribe down below and follow my Instagram @dancersofamericablog (: Have a nice day!
