What Goes on Off-Stage?

Hey, non-dancer subscribers, have you ever wondered what goes on off-stage? Well, today is the day you find out! Being off-stage can be pretty stressful and hectic at times. Not all dancers like rushing around all the time, but it is a big part of performing.

People in the audience at dance recitals, competitions, or any other type of performance do not see what goes on backstage and in the dressing rooms. When dancers are not performing, they are either changing, doing their hair, fixing makeup, or running through their dances. These things and more are going on in the dressing room and backstage.

All audience members see is calm and collected dancers having the time of their lives on stage, not the craziness happening off-stage. I must admit, being in the dressing room and going backstage isn't all fun and games-I am pretty focused on when it is time to go on stage.
