Change in the Dance Studio?!

All dancers must be flexible--both literally and physically. Other than being able to bend into ridiculously difficult to manage shapes, dancers must be ready for changes at any moment. For instance, a song or choreography could change anytime. Maybe even right before a performance!

For example, my ballet dance this year has six dancers, including me. However, we received a new student not that long ago. This led to there being an uneven number of students in our class. Now, we have to change the choreography. My spot in the beginning changed, which led to my part in the start of the dance changing too. This did not come as a huge surprise to me, though, because all dancers are accustomed to changes like this.

Being flexible helps dancers prepare for future dances and just other changes in their lives. If a change comes along, dancers learn to embrace it and to go with it! It's just part of dance itself! (:
