The Power of Stretching

Some people think the most significant part of dancing is the final performance. Or maybe the overall experience of dance alone. And sure, those things are very important to all dancers. But what about the actual dancing itself? Every dancer knows that the most crucial part of preparing for a routine is stretching. A main problem in the dance world is pulling a muscle. This is a consequence of not stretching. Not only does this help dancers, but it also helps athletes. Not that dancers aren't athletes. 😉
Any athlete that plays any sports has to warm up before a game, meet, or performance. These warm-ups include working out and stretching. Let's say it is minutes before a game. Before it starts, you want to prepare for anything. A good way to prepare would be stretching your body, especially your legs, arms, hips, neck, back, and feet. This helps your body to be warmed-up and ready-to-go. All athletes should do this to perform their best.
Another sport, other than dance, that requires stretching is yoga. Yoga is almost completely stretching. Yogis, or people who do yoga, are very healthy and fit. This is because stretching helps increase flexibility and control over muscles. The strength that comes over you when you stretch is going to make your lifestyle healthier. In no time, stretching can make you happy, healthful, and ready for any sport. (:
